Screen Printing
Screen Printing, also known as silk screening, is a versatile printing technique used to apply vibrant and durable ink onto garments like t-shirts, hoodies and tote bags.
The Screen Printing Process
Design Preparation
Create a digital design. Each colour needs a separate screen.
Screen Preparation
Apply a light-sensitive emulsion to the mesh screen, then expose it to light to lock in the artwork.
Screen Washing
Wash away the unhardened emulsion to create the open print areas in the mesh.
Ink Application
The screen is mounted to the press and ink is applied on top, ready for printing.
Printing
A squeegee pushes the ink through the screen and onto the garment for a clean, vibrant result.
Multiple Colours
For multi-colour artwork, separate screens are used for each colour, with drying between layers.
Curing
The printed garment is heat cured to ensure excellent durability, adhesion and wash performance.
