Embroidery
Embroidery is a decorative technique that stitches designs, logos, and text directly onto fabric using needle and thread. It adds texture, depth, and a premium finish to garments, accessories, and textiles, making it a timeless choice for durable branded apparel.
The Embroidery Process
Design Creation
Begin with a digital or hand-drawn design that serves as the blueprint for the embroidery artwork.
Digitization
For machine embroidery, the design is digitized using specialist software so it can be read and stitched accurately by the embroidery machine.
Fabric & Hooping
The chosen fabric is placed securely into an embroidery hoop to keep it stable and properly tensioned during stitching.
Stabilizer Application
A stabilizer is applied to help prevent stretching or distortion, especially on detailed designs or delicate fabrics.
Thread Selection
Thread colours are selected based on the artwork, with consideration given to thread type, finish, and thickness.
Machine Setup
The embroidery machine is configured with the digitized design, thread colours, and garment to ensure precise stitching.
Stitching Process
The machine or operator begins stitching, following the design path to build the embroidered image or text onto the fabric.
Colour Changes
For multi-coloured designs, thread changes are managed manually or automatically throughout the embroidery sequence.
Trimming & Finishing
After stitching, excess threads are trimmed, the garment is removed from the hoop, and the embroidery is inspected for quality.
Final Touches
Any final adjustments are made to refine the embroidery and achieve a clean, professional finish.
Pressing or Ironing
The finished piece may be carefully pressed or ironed to enhance its appearance and help set the stitched design neatly.
